Brit's Pub & Eating Establishment

Drove past The Brit on the way to mountain biking and said to ourselves ‘anything that well maintained on the outside must be equally good on the inside’. So we returned after our exhilarating downhill cycle and were blown away by the warmth and tenderness of the staff and welsh afternoon sun. Would recommend!!!

Fantastic welcome, delicious food and excellent beer. Its the first time we've had food here and we will definitely be back. The Cockles and whitebait were a revelation.

What an amazing night with friends. Entertainment was awesome, I danced and laughed so much. The staff were so accommodating and do anything for you. Food was lovely, not and brought to us with out any fuss. I would recommend the Brit to anyone who is looking for a good night with friends or family

A London feel in a Port Talbot Pub that has they're own beer garden. Very Good.

First time we I arrived here we couldn't get a table as they didn't offer food to which the manager explained and apologized for. Glad me and my friend came back the décor was modern but with the 1885 feel as well. We were sat down and choose our food. I ordered the monk fish first time to try it out and was not disappointed. It was absolutely delicious was not expecting it to be and the price was very reasonable. To some it up the food was great, staff were great, everything was great. I will definitely be back here again.

What a lovely place to have a drink and a chat in a homely surroundings. There is a hello from fellow customers that makes a great welcome. The beer is A1 and I cant work out it feels stronger than when I go to another pub to drink. The staff are friendly, it is beautiful place to go for a relaxing chat and a drink

We had a beautiful lunch this week....I was so impressed! The staff were lovely, decor quirky and the food was excellent. The battered Hake was beautifully fresh. Will be back again 😁

Very nice oldy worldy pub!!! Cosy feeling with log burner fire and welcoming staff. Genuine pub not one of those brewery types.

A hidden gem that's serves top quality food was pleasantly surprised with the decor with it's vintage quirky look, also has a lovely sitting area to the back of pub. Good prices and a good service.

A little disappointing on this visit. Small processed meat portions and had run out of many veg on a Sunday for a pre booked party of people.

Visited here on the strength of the reviews and not disappointed, good welcome, good service and very accommodating. Most importantly great food. Well worth a visit I would go again without a doubt and if my family and friends are to be believed I can be quite uptight and picky over poor food.

The venue is mature in its ways with a touch of intelligence. Everything is well thought out. The food is elegant and the bar has lots to offer compared to an average pub/restaurant which is why it's called a gastro pub 😉 the garden area is stunning and your sat right by the river. It's a quirky venue with a massive sprinkle of elegance

Fantastic stylish place with an excellent menu catering for vegetarians and vegans alongside an excellent conventional menu. I was very impressed with the lavish gin menu! Interestingly decorated with a beautiful outdoor area alongside the river. Only thing to note is there is no baby changing or high chairs available. Highly recommend!

Very good meal. Fresh vegetables and plenty of them. Good selection of meat. Friendly attentive service. Good value for money.

It's a diamond place, food, drinks, hospitality, can't beat it.

You could stay on the car park overnight in motorhome free , it was very nice inside good atmosphere

What a fantastic pub! Stopped here for food after cycling at Afan. It was so busy and the restaurant had a private function on but they still made time to cook us some dinner. Best steak I've had for a long time.

Amazing place. As we had been told the carvery would be on and it was not the chef allowed us to have a small version of one. Amazing service.

Just been for lunch, and this pub is amazing. When designing the menu they clearly aimed for good quality, tasty food, rather than going for budget low end food. They also had around 9-10 good plant based options. The beer was also great, I tried two real ales, both of which were good. I was able to take my dog and 2 year old in with no problem. It also boasts a brilliant beer garden with the Afan river flowing right past. Finally, there is a great place to walk the dog right out of the car park. Just cross the footbridge and you’re in the woods. Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed my visit. Staff were really friendly and welcoming. We didn't eat so thought it unfair to award 5 stars, but for the selection of real ales and Gin certainly worthy of a strong 4 stars. Hope to come back and sample the menu.

Staff seemed a little young and inexperienced with things like the menu and drinks they do. Food is fantastic, has vegan nut roast. No Yorkshire pudding despite that being on the menu, mentioned it to the waiter and she said she was sure and then didn't do anything about it. It's a funky pub though the interior is awesome.

Found this little nugget recently by chance. Everything was first class and I will definitely be going again. We'll worth a visit if you are anywhere nearby.

Worthy winners of recent Pub of Year. Good old fashioned pub which is well decorated in modern style. Well worth a visit and excellent food too. Heartily recommend

I loved this place. It has got a very nice beer garden. Owner was very nice and gentle to us. Very quiet and clam place. And just beside the beer garden the river afan flows through. Also covered in trees hence stays cool in these hot days also.
